iraniana; The 5th Color's Fifty-Fifty in Palermo
March 22 – April 4, 2005; EXPA Gallery, Palermo, Italy
Regarding the beginning of EXPA, the new gallery in Palermo and with
the invitation of Professor Michele Argentino, director of
Department of Design, University of Palermo and Giuseppe Romano,
President of EXPA, The 5th color traveled to Italy to exhibit a
collection of works with the title "Fifty-Fifty".
Cinzia Ferrara was the curator of the exhibition and organized the
workshop with her colleagues in University of Palermo.
Fifty typography works selected from "Bouf-e Kour" (The blind owl),
the first Iranian typography exhibition and "Molavi", the second
Iranian typography exhibition as well as fifty posters by Majid
Abassi, Saed Meshki, Alireza Mostafazadeh and Bijan Sayfouri, is on
show from March 22 to April 4, 2005 in EXPA, galleria di
architecttura, Scuderie Palazzo Cefala in Palermo, Italy.

The programs were as below:
March 22:
-Speech by Majid Abbasi on the subject of "Originality and graphic
design today" accompanied by a slide show in Design Department,
Faculty of Architecture, Palermo.
-Opening of Fifty-Fifty exhibition.
March 23, 24 & 25:
-"Dal micro al macro" workshop for designing a card and the kiosk of
Banca Nuova, a regional bank in the southern of Italy.
Forty students participated in the workshop and Cinzia Ferrara along
with other three professors collaborated with the 5th Color in this
project.
March 26:
-Announcement of ten selected designs by students.
-Mimmo la Manita Jazz Quartet concert in open air.
