Face to Face with Alejandro
Magallanes
Beethoven Hall, Iranian Artists’ Forum, Tehran

The 5th Color with the cooperation of Iranian Graphic Designers
Society (IGDS), Neshan magazine and the Tehran Municipality Cultural
will organized “Face to Face with Alejandro Magallanes” in Beethoven
Hall of Iranian Artists’ Forum on Thursday, December 21.

Alejandro Magallanes born in 1971 in Mexico City and lives and works
in his hometown, graduated from the National School of Visual Arts
(UNAM) and has been working as an independent graphic designer since
1994. His posters have been seen all over the world. Magallanes has
so far designed over 400 posters, which invariably reflect the
social, cultural and political situations.
He has received some international awards such as the Josef Mozrack
medal in the Warsaw Biennale, Golden Bee Award in Moscow, Bronze
medal in 4th Block in Ukraine, Icograda Award in Mexico Biennale,
First prize in the first Latino American Biennale in Bolivia, First
prize in Mons Political Poster Triennale 2004 and the second prize
at the Warsaw Poster Biennale 2004.
He is one of the founding members of El Cartel de Medellin, La
Corriente Electrica and Fuera de Registro who fight for peace and
justice, for the Zapatistas and the Women of Juarez. He is a member
of Alliance Graphique International (AGI) since 2004.

His presence is because of the being a member of the jury in the
World Award of Monotheistic Religions, poster competition. Alejandro
is a well- known designer in the Iranian design community. He was
participated in the 5th Color’s “Self-Postrait” in 2004 and Carolina
Rojas presented his works with an article named “ In the Mexican
way” in the Neshan magazine no.3, 2004.
