Iranian Museum of Graphic Design
Iranian Museum of Graphic Design is to be founded by the Iranian
Graphic Designers Society (IGDS). Attempts of a committee by this
name have been executed since the year 2000 under the management and
supervision of Majid Balouch, graphic designer and the
vice-president of the Society’s managing board, and by the
considerable partnership of the Society members.
All in all, after five years of persistent endeavor, 1500 works in
various fields such as: posters, brochures and catalogues,
Advertisements on newspapers and magazines, logos and logotypes and
also graphic designers’ tools and equipment since 1950, have been
collected.
Iranian Museum of Graphic Design tries to collect Iran’s outstanding
works of graphic design and preserve them in an appropriate
location, which is now the headquarters of IGDS. It also tries to
update this collection to facilitate the young generation, students
and scholars’ research and investigation. In addition, it tries to
increase the number of the collected works and restore and renovate
them and finally make a visual and digital archive with them.
This museum is planned to be inaugurated next year by holding an
exhibition of its collection.
