Morteza
Momayez receives Academy of Art award in Tehran
Morteza Momayez (AGI, IGDS) received the 2004 National Award of
Art achievements from the Academy of Art in Tehran on December 2,
2004 in recognition of his efforts for graphic design in Iran. This
is not only a great honor for him but also for the whole Iranian
design community.
Morteza Momayez was born on August 26, 1936 in Tehran. He was graduated
in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran in
1964 and was post-graduated in 1968 from Ecole Nationale des Arts
Decoratives, Paris. He has been professor of the visual communication
department at the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Tehran since
1969.
He was elected as a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale
(AGI) in 1975 under the recommandation of Roman Cieslewicz, Milton
Glaser and Walter Allner. Morteza Momayez was the president of the
Iranian Graphic Designers Society (1997-2003) and is editor-in-chief
of "Neshan", the Iranian graphic design magazine; Vice-president
of the Iranian Artists Forum and member of Iranian Academy of Art.
