A Miecyzlsaw Wasilewski retrospective in Tehran is shown 20th of
December in Imam Ali Religious Arts Museum in Tehran. His presence
is because of the Award Ceremony of World Award of Monotheistic
Religions, poster competition.

Miecyzlsaw Wasilewski, Illustrator, poster designer, lecturer, born
1942 in Warsaw. Graduated in 1966 from Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts
(Class of Professor Henryk Tomaszewski). Since 1971, head of the
Graphic Design Department of Warsaw Academy and Professor of Academy
since 1985.
Since 1971 he has been lecturing at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts,
later also at the European Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Between
1981-82 he lectured in the Fine Arts department of the Damascene
University, and in 1989 in the College of Applied Arts in Offenbach
and Frankfurt in Germany.
Between 1991-92 he has a lecturer at the Institute of applied Arts
in Rovaniemi, Finland and a guest lecturer at artistic schools in
Arnheim, Holland, Groningen and Helsinki.

His posters have won numerous awards and mentions including 4th
International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 1972, Gold Medal of 6th
International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 1976, Poster of the Year 1987,
Silver Medal of Polish Poster Biennale, Katowice 1989, Special Jury
Award of Festival de l'affiche, Chaumont, France 1991, Siver Medal
of 14th International Poster Biennale, Warsaw 1994 and Siver Medal
at the 1995 International Triennial of theatre’s Poster in Sofia.
His posters are in permanent collections of Poster Museum at Wilanow,
National Museum in Poznan, Musee de l’affiche in Paris, West Chester
University in Pennsylvania, Lahden Taidemuseo in Finland, Toyoma
Poster Museum in Japan, and private galleries in Poland and abroad.
His individual poster exhibition are shown in Poland, Germany,
Finland, Spain and Iran.
